But old (version="4.2") format can still be executed. If there is no version string in the job tag (as was the case up to 4.1), 'version="4.2"' will be assumed implicitly.
* Note that for copy operations reconnect will be disabled if you use transactions. This is required for data security. If a reconnect took place when still non-committed statements had been executed they would not be committed ever (because with a new connection the transaction log for the old connection is not available) and user would not be aware of this. For Data Sync and Migration transactions are always enabled if ENGINE supports it, because this does not result in any conflict as SJA does not reconnect automatically'

Bug fixes:
* Opening a .schemaxml file (to Schema Designer) failed if path contained unicode characters (save not affected and no other save/open operations of the program either).
* It could occur that a connection thread started for the purpose of export did not correctly use the same connection parameters as the 'parent thread'. That might result in a 'Error 0' (actually this includes two different fixes).

Advanced Motion Detection Algorithms
Most encoders use a conventional algorithm based on the exhaustive search. This method has inherent flaws and is much more susceptible to encoding errors caused by things like noise in the source video. Cinema Craft's advanced "multiple high-speed scan" algorithm resolves these problems and increases the quality of the final output video.

Automatic Scene Change Detection
The Cinema Craft encoder uses an advanced forward scanning technique to identify scene changes and use them as points for keyframe (I-Frame) insertion. This allows for cleaner scene transitions and more accurate seeking during playback. Cinema Craft SP also allows you to manually set keyframe (I-Frame) insertion points, great for inserting pin-point accurate chapters in DVD titles.

High-Performance Pre-Encoding
During Automatic Scene Change Detection, Cinema Craft also performs an additional step that involves high-performace pre-encoding of your source video data. This produces data that contains important bitrate to distortion ratios that are used to assure the production of a high quality and stable MPEG stream.

Variable Bit Rate Encoding
Most software MPEG encoders support both Constant Bit Rate (CBR) and Variable Bit Rate (VBR) encoding. But very few (if any) support true multi-pass VBR the way Cinema Craft SP2 does. VBR encoding provides the best utilization of the MPEG-2 bitstream by analyzing the motion of the video being encoded and varying the bitrate accordingly; More action, more bitrate, less action, less bitrate. This generally leads to higher quality video and smaller file sizes which is always good.

Multi-pass VBR takes this one step farther by making multiple passes through the video, each time revising the bitrate structure generated from the previous pass. This used to be the realm of high-end hardware encoders, but now it's available right on your desktop.

A special feature of the Professional Edition are PUSH updates. It is a dramatic change in the philosophy of updates. Usually, every installed program checks every now and then whether a new version is available. PUSH updates, however, are initialized by our server; they result in your computer quickly responding and performing the necessary update. The system is based on the SMTP protocol, i.e. on usual e-mail messages. The updates itself are controlled by the avast! resident e-mail providers (MS Outlook and Internet Mail).

*** Virus Chest
The main properties of the Virus Chest are complete isolation from the rest of the operating system (no outside process, i.e. no virus either, may access the files inside) and the fact that the files inside the Chest may not be run (i.e. there is no danger in storing viruses there).

*** System integration
avast! antivirus features outstanding integration into your system. The scanning can be started directly from Windows Explorer, by clicking a folder or a file with your right mouse button and selecting the corresponding choice from the menu.
Another interesting feature is a special screen-saver that performs scanning for viruses during its run-time. avast! antivirus works together with your favorite screen-saver, so you don't have to change to anything you wouldn't like.
Another new option is the boot-time scan (Windows NT/2000/XP/.NET only). It is important in the case that a virus is suspected to be active on your computer. The boot-time scan is performed before the virus may get activated, so the virus cannot influence the scanning in any way.

*** Command-line scanner
Experienced users may like another Professional Edition feature - command-line scanner. The scanning can be controlled by many arguments and switches; to use as a pipe filter, a special STDIN/STDOUT mode is available.
The module is intended to be used in BATCH programs. Its output is the same as the output from the Enhanced User Interface tasks (including the report files).

DC++ is an open-source, ad and spyware-free client, written in C++ for the Direct Connect protocol originally developed by Neo-Modus.com, that allows you to share files over the internet with other users. Direct Connect allows you to share files over the internet without restrictions or limits. The client is completely free of advertisements and has a nice, easy to use interface. Firewall and router support is integrated and it?s easy and convenient to use functionality like multi-hub connections, auto connections and resuming of downloads.

Original and additional features over NMDC v1 (many now which have found their way into NMDC v2):
- Much more stable. It wastes less memory, is faster, file size is smaller and long queue wont freeze the whole program. Neo-Modus Direct Connect eats memory and resources.
- You can connect to many hubs at same time and search for files from all of them with same search.
- You can continue downloading the same file from other users if somebody leaves.
- You can see timestamps in the chat. Chat won't jump to end when you roll back old messages.
- Bot messages wont popup new windows, you can also filter bot messages off.
- No Ads.
- Search is more versatile.
- Hublist is downloadable from multiple servers/sources.
